About Strategy and Performance

La stratégie et la performance sont essentielles pour faire progresser des soins de santé durables et de haute qualité. Ensemble, elles garantissent que les efforts d’amélioration sont guidés par des priorités claires, fondés sur des données probantes et harmonisés aux niveaux clinique, opérationnel et organisationnel. Au cœur de ce domaine d’action se trouvent deux éléments interdépendants : la mesure et la planification stratégique.

La mesure constitue le fondement permettant de comprendre l’impact et d’orienter l’action. Bien que les émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES) constituent un indicateur important, une mesure efficace des soins de santé reflète également le « triple résultat » plus large : les personnes, la planète et les coûts. Cela inclut l’expérience des patients et du personnel, les résultats en matière de santé, l’utilisation des ressources, les déchets, la gestion financière et les émissions exprimées en équivalents de dioxyde de carbone (CO₂e). Les répercussions du secteur de la santé s’étendent bien au-delà des bâtiments et de la consommation d’énergie; les chaînes d’approvisionnement, les achats, les déplacements et les déchets constituent souvent des sources majeures d’impact environnemental. Une mesure rigoureuse permet aux organisations d’établir des références, de définir des priorités et de suivre les progrès au fil du temps, y compris les résultats d’initiatives telles que les soins virtuels et les pratiques cliniques à faibles émissions de carbone.

La planification stratégique traduit ces données en actions coordonnées. Elle implique de définir des priorités, d’harmoniser la gouvernance et les ressources, d’intégrer la durabilité dans la prise de décision opérationnelle et clinique, et de renforcer les capacités organisationnelles. Des approches stratégiques efficaces intègrent la durabilité au sein des structures existantes, telles que l’amélioration de la qualité, les achats et la planification des services, garantissant ainsi que les efforts soient systématiques, évolutifs et soutenus par l’ensemble des équipes.

CASCADES offre des ressources fondées sur des données probantes et prêtes à être mises en œuvre pour aider les équipes de soins de santé à mesurer les répercussions environnementales, financières et sanitaires, ainsi qu’à mettre en œuvre des initiatives pratiques de développement durable qui favorisent le bien-être des personnes, la protection de la planète et la création de valeur dans le secteur de la santé.
