Dr. Richard Webster is the Scientific Director of the Clinical Research Unit at the CHEO Research Institute (CHEO RI) and co-led of the OCHSU (Ontario Child Health Support Unit).

As an associate scientist at CHEO and adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management his research facilitates a future where health systems have data-informed net-zero strategies and are rapidly decarbonizing. The Climate Care Lab mission is to bridge the gap between carbon emissions, cost efficiency and clinical care by implementing net-zero healthcare that is strategic for leaders, practical for providers, and better for patients. This work has allowed CHEO to become the 1st Canadian hospital to set a board approved net-zero target. Richard is on the governance and scientific expert committee for SOSCHI (Standards for Official Statistics on Climate-Health Interactions) and an active member of the Cochrane Planetary Health Thematic Group.
